Five Minutes With… Dan Brink

In our ‘Five Minutes With’ interview series we will be learning about the people behind the scenes at UniLED.

Our third interview is with UniLIVE’s Head of Data, Dan Brink, who joined UniLED in 2020.

Find out what his typical day involves, why he loves working at UniLED and why listening to Death Metal is his idea of relaxation below…

What does a typical work day look like for you and what are you currently working on?

‘One of best things about my role is that no two days are the same, as we’re in a constant state of evolution so it’s always changing! But an average day will consist of a call with the team to talk through past, current and upcoming campaigns, looking for any anomalies and general problem solving. Then it’s onto a client call to present how their DOOH campaigns are performing and then later in the afternoon it’s calls with the US media owners.’

What’s the most interesting part of your role?

‘The variety is a big attraction, plus it’s great to be involved with a product I know is making a difference in the DOOH market. Every day I get to play detective with the tools and systems and then look at the data itself to see how we can better present it in an efficient and meaningful manner.’

What’s the best thing about working at UniLED?

‘Being a specialist, within a segment of a specialist market. It might be a bit restrictive for some people, but I love the focus and attention we can give to this area of OOH.’

Describe UniLED’s culture in three words

‘Cogent, Inclusive, (& occasionally) Loud.’

Given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

‘Ben Poulsen, our Lead Developer – if I had a quarter of his programming prowess, I’d be a happy man!’

If you had 25 hours in the day, how would you use the extra hour?

‘Sitting by myself in a quiet room on a comfy armchair, listening to some death metal very, very loud…’
