Job description
As the Software Development Manager, you will lead the software development effort within the business, ensuring that their team builds enterprise grade web applications based on our product roadmap.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing a technical team through coaching and mentorship, focused on Agile delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Guide team development efforts towards successful technical delivery.
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the teams by establishing good practices and habits.
- Provide capacity forecasting, planning and reporting to the business.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Implement Training procedures.
- Prepare Scrum Reports and reports for higher levels.
- Be responsible for, package and support deployment of releases.
- Adhere to high-quality Agile development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
- Work with the team in the migration of legacy applications to current technologies.
- Act as Scrum Master and managing sprints.
Skills & experience
- Expert in managing development teams
- Experience in working within dynamic/fast passed commercially run organisations
- Expert in different programming languages, tools and best practices
- Experience with automated testing
- Expert in with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum Experience
- Strong MS Office suite skills, including Excel and Visio (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of development process
- Experience with development including PHP, JS and Python
- Experience with database development including relational database design, SQL and ORM technologies
