Operations Director

UniLED has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Director to join the business. This is a pivotal role with a key focus on overseeing and scaling a key department in the organisation, to ensure consistent delivery, performance and safety of departmental team members.

Job description

Due to the continued growth at UniLED there is a need for an experienced Operations Director to join the team.

As the Operations Director you will lead the Operations team in the implementation of strategy. You will define the strategy for the operations function whilst determining the right organisational structure, people, systems and processes, to ensure effective delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse operations using prior experience to identify areas for efficiency and enhancement
  • Implement systems and processes to enhance technology focussed culture
  • Undertake strategic management of operations department across field, projects and remote including budgetary management
  • Build strong and effective relationships with clients to deliver first class service and meet client service expectations
  • Ensure the safety and quality of work undertaken by all operations team members at all time
  • Drive continuous performance improvement and ongoing development of all direct reports using coaching / leadership expertise

Skills & experience

  • Extensive experience gained at a senior leadership level within Manufacturing, Logistics or a Processing related industry
  • Track record of successful management of multi-discipline projects and departments within budget
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning, business development, and people management
  • Strongly IT literate with across usual Microsoft Office packages

  • Able to work flexible hours and to travel as required to ensure business needs are met (mainly UK)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • NEBOSH qualification desirable
  • Experience gained at Board level would be advantageous
