Field Technician Lead

UniLED has an exciting opportunity for a Field Technician Lead to join the company. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day case management and logistic support.

Job description

Due to the continued growth at UniLED there is a need for Field Technician Lead to support the Field services team.

As the cross-functional Field Technician Lead, you will work within the scheduled rota for reactive maintenance. You will manage the incoming workload with first line remote support and onsite support in terms of case management, whilst working with the field technician lead with regards to dispatching technicians.

Key responsibilities

  • To own the responsibility for the management and works of all field operatives
  • Ensuring all incidents are managed with in the required SLA and to the required quality standard in line with the company ethos.
  • Responsible for Reactive Maintenance job dispatching in accordance with the incident pipeline and technician rota
  • Responsible for Client Communication on an incident-by-incident basis with the SDO operative where required
  • Managing the workload of the field service team.
  • Ensuring site access and necessary equipment is organised through the logistics team
  • Responsible for managing sub-contractors dispatching and works on field incidents.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to tasks such as H&S training, daily checks, and reports. 
  • Implementation and creation and Management of Team Rota Schedule and the completion of onsite works within all categories (reactive maintenance, misc. maintenance and projects).
  • Building strong and effective relationships with direct reports, clients, and key stakeholders to deliver first class service.
  • Drive continuous performance improvement and ongoing development of all direct reports.

Skills & experience

  • Have extensive experience as a Field Services Manager
  • Track record of successful management of a department and competing priorities
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning, business development, and people management
  • NEBOSH qualification preferable
  • Experience of adhering to ISO accreditations preferable
  • Strong leadership skills to include delegation, mentoring, coaching, support and encouragement

  • Flexible and proactive approach to meet ever changing customer demands and a strategic and pragmatic approach to decision making
  • Strongly IT literate with across usual Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability with a record of having successfully delivered CAPEX projects
  • Able to work flexible hours and to travel as required to ensure business needs are met (mainly UK)
